The lion Barami (20), who once earned the unfortunate nickname "Ribs Lion" due to his emaciated body, is now expected to spend the rest of his life with his daughter.

The city of Cheongju announced on the 24th that it plans to transfer Barami's daughter (5) from the closed Bukyung Zoo to Cheongju Zoo next month.

Barami's daughter had been temporarily housed at an animal farm in Gangneung and is known to be in good health.

The city of Cheongju will follow the necessary procedures to bring Barami's daughter to Cheongju Zoo next month. To minimize the animal's stress during the transfer, they plan to encourage her to voluntarily enter the cage without anesthesia.

Considering the possibility that the father and daughter may not recognize each other, Cheongju Zoo plans to conduct gradual integration through training such as cross-exposure and face-to-face meetings.
