Samsung Electronics' labor and management will resume wage negotiations on the 23rd, 15 days after the strike began.
The union is raising the pressure by announcing a rally for victory in the general strike as its last card to conclude the negotiations.
Both sides are expected to clash over four major issues: the wage increase rate, guaranteeing one day of leave for the union's founding, improving the performance-based bonus system, and compensating for the economic losses caused by the strike.
The core issue is expected to be narrowing the gap between the 5.1% wage increase rate proposed by management and the 5.6% demanded by the union.
To maximize their negotiating power, the union plans to hold a rally for victory in the general strike at the Giheung Campus on the 22nd. Through this rally, the union aims to strengthen the solidarity of its members and increase its negotiating power.
However, the number of participants in the strike is lower than expected, so the union is encouraging members to participate.
Currently, the union has identified about 1,500 participants who have registered for the rally, which is a decrease compared to the number of union members who participated in the rally on the first day of the strike (estimated at 4,000 to 5,000 by the union and 3,000 by the police).
The entire union has urged its members to attend the general strike rally on the 22nd to ensure the strike ends successfully.
