The German startup InSpacePropulsion Technologies (ISPTech), which develops in-orbit propulsion systems, recently secured an investment of 2 million euros.
The investment round was led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), First Momentum Ventures, and Possible Ventures.
ISPTech was founded in 2023 by engineers from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and is developing various types of in-orbit propulsion systems that can be applied to satellites and spacecraft of all sizes.
The company emphasizes that its system "combines reliability and cost-effectiveness," a claim validated through dozens of ground burn tests conducted at DLR facilities.
Felix Lauck and Lukas Werling, co-founders of ISPTech, stated, "After developing the technology and monitoring the market over the past few years, we have confirmed a clear and significant demand for affordable, quickly deployable, and powerful propulsion technology."
Koen Geurts, Investment Manager at HTGF, who led the investment, remarked, "ISPTech is the only startup providing thrust from 1N to 1KN and is in a position to set new market standards."
He also added that ISPTech's technology has the potential to change the landscape of the space industry.
With this investment, ISPTech plans to accelerate its technology development and lay the foundation for entry into the global market.
