A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Apple, alleging that the company delayed implementing key artificial intelligence (AI) features on its devices, including the iPhone.

The plaintiffs claim that Apple exaggerated the performance of its products through false advertising and have filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Jose.

According to Clarkson Law Firm, which is representing the plaintiffs, Apple heavily promoted innovative AI technologies, including the "Apple Intelligence" feature, well before the launch of its devices, creating clear and reasonable expectations among consumers.

However, the released products reportedly lacked these features or offered them in a significantly limited capacity, which has become the central issue of the lawsuit.

In the complaint, the plaintiffs argue that Apple misled consumers through widespread marketing on the internet, television, and other media, claiming groundbreaking AI capabilities that were not delivered. They assert that Apple encouraged purchases by presenting exaggerated AI functions and misleading information.

Although the controversial AI feature advertisements have recently been removed from YouTube, similar ads from last summer continue to exist. The plaintiffs also point out that Apple has not provided any remedies to affected consumers and that the company's deceptive practices persist.

Last year, Apple introduced "Siri," an AI voice assistant touted as one of the core AI features, promising more personalized and conversational capabilities. However, the rollout of this feature has been delayed once again. Apple has stated that the advanced Siri functions, which include recognizing personal context and performing tasks across apps, are now expected to launch next year.

While Apple has not disclosed specific reasons for the delays, consumer frustration has been mounting. Experts caution that although technical challenges may be unavoidable, prioritizing consumer trust is essential. They warn that misleading advertising can damage brand value.

Consumers are demanding compensation, claiming that the AI functions promised in Apple's advertisements were not delivered as promised.
