TMON and WeMakePrice Settlement Delay Incident, Affected Consumers Announce Collective Action

On the 30th, the victim group issued a statement saying, "This incident could be an important watershed for the Korean e-commerce industry," urging swift compensation for damages.

Victims criticized TMON and WeMakePrice for applying for corporate rehabilitation procedures in court, arguing that they lack genuine intentions to compensate for the damages. They also claimed that Qoo10 has been exploiting inadequate oversight from financial authorities, maintaining losses while expanding its business.

They expressed that they have suffered mental and physical distress while engaging in normal consumer activities and are currently enduring pain.

The victim group consists of consumers who made purchases on TMON and WeMakePrice but have not received refunds.

Meanwhile, three victims held a protest in front of the National Assembly in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, in the afternoon. They warned of a large-scale rally in front of the Government Seoul Building, where the Financial Services Commission is located, if the refund process does not improve. A protest was also held in front of Qoo10 Technology in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 28th.
