China's satellite startup ADA Space recently announced the successful testing of its large language model (LLM) in orbit.
The test was conducted over approximately ten days from September 25 to October 5, during which a total of 13 trials were carried out to validate the model's performance under various conditions.
This testing took place after the launch of a satellite equipped with the LLM on September 24, which was carried into space by the Smart Dragon-3 solid-fuel rocket developed by China Rocket Co.
The company stated, “We evaluated the AI's reasoning capabilities under various temperature and operational conditions,” emphasizing their focus on building a reliable artificial intelligence system in the space environment.
ADA Space plans to expand into various AI application fields, including the generation of 3D remote sensing data, utilizing artificial intelligence technology.
This experiment is considered a significant step in exploring how artificial intelligence can contribute to data processing in space.
