Infosys, a leading IT conglomerate in India, has announced an investment of $2 million (approximately 2.7 billion KRW) in Indian startup GalaxEye Space, marking a new turning point for innovation in India's space industry.

GalaxEye Space recently announced on social media, "We are proud to have Infosys, a global technology leader, join our Series A round as a strategic investor."

They emphasized, "Infosys' vast experience will strengthen our mission, and together, we will advance next-generation space technology through satellite data fusion and AI-driven analysis, laying the foundation for delivering innovative solutions from space."

GalaxEye Space raised $6.5 million (approximately 8.8 billion KRW) during its Series A funding round in August. With Infosys' investment included, they have now secured a total of $8.5 million (approximately 11.5 billion KRW).

Notably, GalaxEye Space plans to launch the world's first multi-sensor Earth-observation satellite equipped with both SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) and multi-spectral sensors in 2025.

This satellite will offer a wide range of data collection capabilities, applicable for both military and commercial purposes. The multi-sensor system has already completed performance testing on drones.

The multi-sensor system holds significant potential for military use.

SAR radar can observe the ground even in adverse conditions such as clouds or bad weather, and multi-spectral sensors allow for precise monitoring in low-light conditions, enabling applications such as military camouflage detection and troop movement tracking.

Infosys' investment is expected to further deepen the collaboration between India's IT and space industries.

By combining its expertise in artificial intelligence and data analytics with GalaxEye Space's space technology, Infosys will provide a foundation for more efficient analysis and utilization of Earth observation data. This collaboration is anticipated to strengthen India's competitive edge in the field of Earth observation satellites.

The CEO of Infosys stated, "We are pleased to contribute to innovations in space technology and Earth observation through this investment and partnership. Together with GalaxEye Space, we will work to uncover new insights from space data and deliver innovative solutions to the world."
