Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the prototype of the fully autonomous robo-taxi, 'CyberCab,' at the Warner Brothers movie studio in Burbank, Los Angeles, on the 10th (local time).

Musk announced plans to mass-produce the vehicle by 2027 and set the price below $30,000.

However, disappointment emerged among investors and industry insiders following the announcement.

CyberCab is a fully autonomous vehicle without a steering wheel or pedals, symbolizing Tesla’s entry into the robo-taxi service market.

But Musk did not provide specific details about what autonomous driving technology would be applied, nor did he mention any specific plans regarding regulations.

This led to criticism for the lack of expected details.

Investors who attended the event pointed out that Tesla's announcement lacked specifics and did not present a clear schedule for future business plans.

Dennis Dick, a stock trader at Triple D Trading, commented, "The timeline is unclear, and as a shareholder, it’s quite disappointing."

Investor Nancy Tengler also expressed disappointment, stating, "There was no concrete information other than the price of the CyberCab."

Despite Tesla's ongoing efforts in developing autonomous driving technology, this announcement left much to be desired as there was no specific mention of progress in this area.

Tesla had previously hinted at launching fully autonomous driving services through its Full Self Driving (FSD) feature in Texas and California by 2024. However, some investors remain skeptical, citing Musk’s past delays in meeting his target timelines.

Reuters noted that "Tesla lacks a concrete plan to surpass competitors like Waymo," raising questions about how Tesla’s robo-taxi business will successfully take hold.
