SpaceX successfully completed its 100th rocket launch on the 15th, marking another milestone.
On that day, the Falcon 9 rocket, launched from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Base, sent 23 Starlink satellites into space, contributing to the expansion of the low Earth orbit communication network.
About 8 minutes after launch, the rocket’s first-stage booster successfully landed on a drone ship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
On the same day, SpaceX also carried out another Starlink satellite launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The Falcon 9 rocket successfully deployed 20 Starlink satellites into space, bringing SpaceX’s total rocket launches in 2024 to 101.
SpaceX recorded a total of 98 rocket launches in 2023 and aims for 144 in 2024.
Of the 101 launches conducted this year, 96 have been Falcon 9 launches, with about two-thirds dedicated to launching Starlink satellites for SpaceX’s global internet service.
In addition, there have been 2 Falcon Heavy launches and 3 Starship launches.
