The next-generation satellite jammer, "Meadowland," developed by the American defense company L3Harris Technologies, is scheduled to be deployed by the U.S. Space Force in early 2025.
This system is currently undergoing final performance testing and is designed to effectively disrupt adversaries' satellite communication systems.
Meadowland is a highly mobile anti-jamming system, which will be operated by Space Delta 3, the U.S. Space Force unit responsible for electronic warfare.
In particular, Meadowland's main targets are the satellite networks operated by Russia and China, with a primary focus on disrupting their communication, reconnaissance, and navigation functions.
According to local reports, Meadowland's mobility allows the U.S. military to rapidly deploy the system to specific areas as needed, thereby restricting enemy satellite access and enhancing sustained electronic warfare capabilities.
L3Harris has reportedly completed the production of five Meadowland units, all prepared for deployment in 2025.
A U.S. Space Force official stated, "Meadowland is expected to significantly enhance America's defensive capabilities in the increasingly contested space battlefield. We anticipate that this equipment will limit the satellite communication and intelligence-gathering capabilities of our adversaries."
Meadowland is seen as a key enhancement to the U.S. space electronic warfare capabilities and part of America's strategic effort to counter the growing threats posed by Russia and China in space.
