SEOUL, May 9 (Sankyung Today) -- Hyundai Mobis, an automobile parts affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group, is making waves in the automotive industry with its groundbreaking technologies that could revolutionize the future of driving.
The latest development from Hyundai Mobis is the world's first in-vehicle rollable display. The new display, situated where navigation systems are typically installed, features a screen that rolls up and down when displaying driving information. With its flexible design, the display offers carmakers more room for creative interior design concepts.
"The screen disappears when the car is turned off. When driving, users can roll the screen up just one-third of the way with only the minimum driving information required. The display is scaled up to two-thirds when using navigation," the company said in a statement.

Hyundai Mobis aims to win orders from many carmakers with its advanced rollable display, which provides a seamless driving experience by showing only the necessary information at the right time. The technology also enhances safety by reducing driver distractions.
But that's not all. In April, Hyundai Mobis demonstrated its e-Corner System, which allows a car to move sideways like a crab and spin around a vertical axis like a figure skater. Equipped on Hyundai's electric vehicle Ioniq 5, the e-Corner System allows for a "crab walk" that moves the car sideways with 90-degree rotating wheels and a "zero turn" that spins the car around a vertical axis with four wheels moving at different angles.

The technology offers new levels of convenience and ease in tight parking situations. It enables drivers to parallel park without having to steer the car handle in a complex manner. The e-Corner System also allows vehicles to be driven diagonally at 45 degrees and lets people rotate the car by pivoting it at the position and angle they want.
Hyundai Mobis plans to commercialize the e-Corner System by 2027, marking a significant milestone in the development of autonomous driving.
In February, Hyundai Mobis announced it would invest up to 10 trillion won in future mobility solutions in the next three years, with 5 to 6 trillion won allocated for electrification and core components, and 3 to 4 trillion won for autonomous driving and the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) and software development.
The remaining 5 trillion won will be set aside to respond to market uncertainties amid a global economic slowdown, showing Hyundai Mobis' commitment to long-term investment and innovation.
With its cutting-edge technologies and forward-thinking vision, Hyundai Mobis is driving innovation in mobility and shaping the future of transportation.
