Hyundai Engineering & Construction has once again demonstrated its excellence in the field of eco-friendly design by winning the main prize at the 'Green Good Design Award' for the second consecutive year.
On the 12th, Hyundai E&C announced that the 'HI Planter' of Hillstate Yongsan Dunjun Station won the main prize in the 'Green Product, Graphic Design, Packaging' category at the 'Green Good Design Award'.
The 'Green Good Design Award' is an eco-friendly design competition co-hosted by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies, which selects and awards outstanding eco-friendly designs from around the world.
The awarded 'HI Planter' is a concrete planting structure made using 3D printing technology, which has garnered attention for its ability to implement curves that are difficult to achieve with conventional concrete.
Additionally, it received high praise for showcasing the potential to create various designs of landscape structures through the combination of 3D printing technology and eco-friendly materials.
Last year, Hyundai E&C also won the main prize in this competition with a children's play facility and sculptural sitting wall made using 3D printing technology. With this award, Hyundai E&C has achieved the feat of being the first domestic construction company to win the main prize at the 'Green Good Design Award' for two consecutive years.
A Hyundai E&C representative stated, "We will continuously strive to develop eco-friendly designs for a sustainable future," and added, "We aim to take a leading role in the eco-friendly construction sector through innovative technology and design."
