The solid-fuel rocket developed by the Chinese rocket startup 'iSpace' recently failed to launch.

The four-stage rocket 'Hyperbola-1,' which was launched this time, took off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center located in the Gobi Desert, but it failed to reach its target orbit due to a problem in the fourth stage.

Immediately after the launch, the company issued a statement saying that an investigation into the failure was underway and that additional information would be released once the cause was identified.

Information about the payload carried by this rocket has not yet been disclosed.

iSpace drew attention in 2019 as the first Chinese private launch vehicle company to successfully enter orbit using the Hyperbola-1 rocket.

However, they have faced significant challenges after failing three consecutive launches since then.

They attempted to regain their reputation with two successful launches in 2023, but this recent failure has again marred their standing.

iSpace is currently focusing on developing the partially reusable rocket 'Hyperbola-3,' which uses methane and liquid oxygen as fuel.

This rocket is designed to send up to 8.5 tons of cargo into low Earth orbit in reusable mode and up to 13.4 tons in expendable mode, with a reusable first stage.

The first-stage test vehicle 'Hyperbola-2Y,' designed to test the reuse technology, successfully completed vertical takeoff and landing tests in November and December 2023.

The first orbital flight of Hyperbola-3 is scheduled for 2025, initially operating as an expendable rocket.

The model with the applied reusable technology is expected to be deployed in 2026.

iSpace aims to conduct 25 annual launches of the Hyperbola-3 by 2030.
