Incheon City, Free Passage Through Wonjeoksan and Manwolsan Tunnels During Weekd

Starting from the 17th (Wednesday), all vehicles using the Wonjeoksan and Manwolsan Tunnels will be able to pass for free during weekday commute hours.

Incheon Metropolitan City has established the "Ordinance on Support for Toll Fees for Wonjeoksan Tunnel and Manwolsan Tunnel," providing a basis for free passage during weekday commute hours (2 hours each in the morning and evening) and during holiday periods.

The city has implemented this toll-free measure to address equity issues for inland residents, following the complete toll-free policy for Yeongjong and Incheon Bridges, and to enhance the transportation welfare experienced by citizens.

Additionally, the previously temporary toll exemption for Wonjeoksan and Manwolsan Tunnels during holiday periods has been institutionalized.

All vehicles using these tunnels during weekday commute hours, specifically from 7 AM to 9 AM and from 6 PM to 8 PM, will be able to pass through the toll booths without stopping for card or cash payments.

However, this policy does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

Currently, the toll fees for Wonjeoksan and Manwolsan Tunnels are 400 KRW for small cars, 800 KRW for medium-sized cars, and 1,100 KRW for large vehicles.

The city anticipates that approximately 2.4 million vehicles annually will benefit from free passage during weekday commute hours, and is promoting the toll exemption through electronic boards in the tunnels, banners, the city website, and other online and offline media.

Kim Jun-seong, Director of the City’s Transportation Bureau, stated, "We are implementing free and non-stop passage during weekday commute hours to alleviate traffic congestion during peak times, provide transportation convenience to users, and realize transportation welfare that citizens can feel."
