Boryung announced on the 15th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) to secure space development technology. This agreement aims to establish a foundation for space research in Korea and strengthen space development capabilities through collaboration between the two institutions.
The signing ceremony was held at KARI’s exhibition booth at the 45th Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) General Assembly held at BEXCO in Busan. Attending the ceremony were Boryung CEO Kim Jeong-gyun and KARI President Lee Sang-ryul, who expressed their mutual commitment to cooperation.
Under the agreement, Boryung and KARI will build a cooperative system in fields such as sharing space test facilities and research experiences, low Earth orbit and deep space exploration, and utilization of space stations. Through this, the two organizations plan to activate tests and research in Korea’s space environment and jointly discover and promote various cooperative projects for the development of the national space industry.
Boryung has been partnering with global space medicine-related companies, institutions, and experts through the Humans In Space program every year, and discovering and investing in startups and researchers developing essential technologies for space exploration. Through this agreement, Boryung intends to strengthen cooperation with KARI to secure sustainable space development technology.
Boryung CEO Kim Jeong-gyun said, “We hope this agreement will serve as an important opportunity for our country to actively utilize the space environment and revitalize the space industry,” adding, “Based on this, we will contribute to Korea’s leap into a global space power.”
KARI President Lee Sang-ryul stated, “The current top priority of the Space Agency is the realization of the space economy,” and “KARI will contribute to the development of the national space economy by cooperating with Boryung based on the technology and experience accumulated so far.”
