Pohang City announced that it will recruit 12 companies to participate in the 'Pohang Pavilion (Eureka Pavilion)' at 'CES 2025' to support the global market entry and business network building of promising local digital companies.
The CES (Consumer Technology Association), held annually in Las Vegas every January and hosted by the American Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is a competition ground for global big tech companies showcasing the latest technology trends, advanced products, and future technologies. CES 2025 will be held for four days from January 7 to 10.
Pohang City plans to create and operate the Pohang Pavilion with 12 companies within the K-Startup Pavilion run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in the Eureka Pavilion at CES 2025.
Participating companies in this Pohang Pavilion will receive up to 28 million KRW in tailored support, including ▲individual booths within the joint pavilion ▲consulting and application fees for the CES Innovation Awards ▲buyer matching and meetings ▲dedicated interpreters ▲exhibition product shipping fees ▲airfare and accommodation expenses.
This support scale results from Pohang City participating in the K-Startup Pavilion of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, receiving about 10 million KRW per booth in national funding, and additionally allocating a total of 120 million KRW in corporate support budget from the cost savings.
Last year, Pohang City was the only local government to operate the Pohang Pavilion within the K-Startup Pavilion at CES 2024, achieving outstanding results on the global stage with two companies (Midbar, Flow Studio) winning the 'Best Innovation Award' and four companies (Nature Glue Tech, AN Poly, Cream, Graphene Square) winning the 'Innovation Award' among 22 local companies.
Participating companies will be selected through an open recruitment process and must be local venture companies based in Pohang with headquarters, branches, or research institutes and be within seven years of founding, possessing advanced technologies in fields such as digital, artificial intelligence (AI), bio, mobility, and healthcare.
